Chakra Massage

While in Nicaragua, I was taught a meditation technique called a Chakra Massage. I’ve always had a challenge with meditation – sometimes I can drop in, but most of the time I, like many, feel like I’m not “doing it right”. Which is so not true!

Anyway, the Chakra Massage is an active, seated meditation so I feel like I’m “doing something” in my meditation.

You can go from the top down (grounding), or the bottom up (uplifting/opening) – whatever you need on that day/at that time.

Chakra Massage Meditation

Find a comfortable seat, and place both hands on your thighs. Pause and find your breath. Feel yourself sitting. Feel the top of your spine lifting up. Breathe here.

Turn your left palm to face up on your thigh, and take your right balm to either above your head (crown chakra – top down/grounding), or just out from your pelvis (root chakra – bottom up/opening). I will walk you through top down, but you can do this in reverse.

Crown chakra: begin to feel the energy lifting from the crown of your head to your palm, begin to move your hand clockwise – feeling the energy move.
“I am open to the greatest good for all”

Third eye chakra: move your palm to the place in front of your third eye and feel the energy, begin to move your hand – feeling the energy move.
“I see the greatest good for all”

Throat chakra: move your palm to the place in front of your throat and feel the energy, begin to move your hand – feeling the energy move.
“I speak the truth for the greatest good”

Heart chakra: move your palm to the place in front of your heart and feel the energy, begin to move your hand – feeling the energy move.
“We are all love”

Solerplexis chakra: move your palm to the place in front of your ribs (your solerplexis), begin to move your hand – feeling the energy move.
“I am connected to my truth”

Sacral chakra: move your palm to the place in front of your intestines, begin to move your hand – feeling the energy move.
“I am strong. I am willing and able to take action for the greatest good for all.”

Root chakra: move your palm to the place just in front of your pelvis, begin to move your hand – feeling the energy move.
“I am grounded”

Reset your right palm to your thigh and reconnect with your breath. Seal your meditation however you do.

Things to note!

It is likely to find chakras that don’t “feel” anything. Some days, some chakras feel blocked, some days, some chakras are open and charged up! Just keep breathing and keep massaging.

If there are blockages, notice them and work to release them in various ways that work for you.

When I first did this, my throat chakra was BLOCKED! So much that I found myself opening my mouth during the meditation and taking Lion’s Breath exhales trying to clear it.
